A book detailing the war years in Torpoint has been launched at the library. Joe Plant spent 13 years researching what happened in the town, speaking with many people and learning from their recollections. The book - Cornwall's First Town on the Front Line -Torpoint's War Diary 1939-1945 was signed by the author on launch day and there was great interest in the book. As well as the general public eager to buy signed books, Sir Richard Carew-Pole who wrote the foreword and Captain Steve Murdoch of HMS Raleigh were there as well.
