Torpoint Mayor Mike Pearn held a reception for the new Captain of HMS Raleigh and his wife, welcoming them to the town. Councillors and representatives were there to meet the couple. The Mayor presented Captain Murdoch with the book 'The Making of a Cornish Town' about Torpoint.

The Mayor and Mayoress also presented a cheque for over £2,600 to Shelterbox from their charity sale.
